Audi ABT A1

Audi ABT A1

REVIEW

The Audi A1 has always been a bit of an anomaly in the small car world, a fairly expensive choice but far more upmarket than any other city cars, which is even more evident with this latest generation model. Only available in a 5dr configuration, it still manages to look wide, sporty and aggressive with triple intakes above the grille harking back to the legendary Sport Quattro rally car. There’s no S1 coming (for a while at least) which means the top model so far has 200hp – well it does unless you’re ABT and you want to create your own S1! ABT take the 40TFSi S-Line Comp and tune the engine to add another 40hp, meaning it now has a very healthy 240hp and 360Nm of torque. The A1 kit also adds some visual spice too though, with 18-inch GR alloy wheels and lowered, retuned suspension. The upshot is a seriously cool looking, very quick little hot hatch at a very good price. Now we just want a go!
