BMW AC Schnitzer ACS2 (M2)

BMW AC Schnitzer ACS2 (M2)

REVIEW

For many the BMW M4 has got too big and too 'grand tourer' than outright sports car these days, so BMW saw an opening. They spotted it in 2010 with the 1M and have stuck to the same formula with the new M2. Taking the M235i as its base, the M2 gets hugely swollen wheelarches and an incredibly aggressive front bumper along with the usual 'M' quad exhaust pipes to create one of the coolest and most exciting looking cars on sale. There's a manual or dual clutch auto gearbox and of course it's rear wheel drive. But there are some who look at the turbocharged 365bhp straight-six and think “Hmmm, that could do with a bit more power” and look outside and think “hmm, this aggressive beast only looks like it would eat my children, I want it to look like it would eat the whole school” – and this is where renowned German tuner AC Schnitzer comes in. They tune the engine to 420bhp, boost the torque and then add lots of lovely carbon aerodynamic parts to give more downforce and add their own lighter wheels and bespoke suspension. What you end up with is a more aggressive, more focused and more powerful M2 that would show an M4 its rear diffuser on any road or track.
