Win a Mercedes AMG C63-S
Okay, let’s address the elephant in the room – the C63-S doesn’t have a V8 any more. Or even a V6. But have you checked out that horsepower figure?!
Yes, the new C63-S has a four-cylinder turbocharged engine, but this is the most powerful four-cylinder engine ever mass-produced, making over 469bhp. This is combined with a top hybrid system similar to the AMG One hypercar, which adds another 201bhp from an electric motor, meaning this C63-S has 670bhp... in a four-door family saloon car!
There’s also a fairly ridiculous 1020Nm of torque, which combines to help the AWD C63-S E-Performance (to give it the full title) get from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds and onto 173mph if you spec the AMG Drivers Package.
But this is a plug-in hybrid, so it has a reasonably small 6.1 kWh battery that enables 8 miles of EV-only driving. AMG say it’s not meant to be driven in EV mode as it’s a performance car; the EV mode is for leaving the house early in the morning without waking the neighbours!
Visually, the C63-S gets a unique and very aggressive front end with more oversized intakes, a special bonnet with a vent for extracting the heat from that high-output engine, some wing vents, and a lovely set of 20-inch alloy wheels. The rear sees the traditional quad exhaust tips, and a neat lip spoiler finishes the look.
To make it more agile, the C63-S now has rear-wheel steering, too, so we can expect this fiercely quick sports saloon to be able to destroy the bends as well.
What a machine!
