Audi has revealed the facelifted A8 range, incorporating the car that really appeals to us here at BOTB – the S8.  The facelift across the A8 range is subtle to say the least, but the S8 has had a more substantial update, especially at the front.

The main change is new headlights, known as MatrixBeam LED lights. They feature 25 individual LEDs that can be switched on or off, or dimmed individually, depending on the road conditions. The lights also adapt around corners, feature indicators with sweeping sequential lighting and, when linked with an optional navigation and MMI infotainment system, use the Satnav to adapt to corners, hills and road classifications. Seriously cool tech for headlights!

There is a new, more aggressive front bumper featuring a jutting lower spoiler and a redesigned grille. There are new alloy wheel designs in 19-, 20- and 21-inch sizes. At the rear the lights are more smoothly integrated with the bodywork and feature a chrome strip that runs along the bootlid as well. There are the typical quad exhausts as well to finish off the look.

Power remains the same from the twin turbo 4.0 litre V8, with 513 bhp.

The new S8 will be revealed to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2 weeks, when pricing will be announced.
