For many the BMW M4 has got too big and too 'grand tourer' than outright sports car these days, so BMW saw an opening. They spotted it in 2010 with the 1M and have stuck to the same formula with the new M2. Taking the M235i as its base, the M2 gets hugely swollen wheelarches and an incredibly aggressive front bumper along with the usual 'M' quad exhaust pipes to create one of the coolest and most exciting looking cars on sale. The turbocharged 3.0 litre straight six is tuned to 365bhp, there's a manual or dual clutch auto gearbox and of course it's rear wheel drive. There's every chance this could be the best handling BMW since the M3 CSL if you believe what BMW says, so we just can't wait to get behind the wheel and find out for ourselves.
