When is a coupe not a coupe? When it’s a Gran Coupe of course! BMW has been rewriting the rules of how a car should be described ever since 2012, and it encompassed the 4-Series, 6-Series and lately the 8-Series. But now it has been added to the 2-Series lineup to take a slice of the market that was previously owned by the Mercedes CLA – the small 4-door Coupe.
Based on the 1-Series platform, the new M235i shares the M135i’s 2.0 litre turbocharged four cylinder engine, producing 302bhp and 450Nm of torque, going through an 8spd ZF Auto gearbox to all four wheels thanks to BMW’s xDrive system.
Visually the M235i is 21cm longer than the 1-Series and that is seen in the long, tapering roofline and pert rear, with wide stretched rear lights like that on the X4. At the front there are the trademark M-Performance satin silvery grey accents on the grille, mirrors and intakes and they wheels are also painted in the fetching shade.
This M235i Gran Coupe really is a super stylish alternative to the usual hot hatch and is a fantastic thing to drive with performance to match the looks – and you can win one in the BOTB Midweek Car Competition for just £1.85!
This car comes with £20,000 cash included in the price of your ticket.
