« Back Kia Stinger GT S
What’s this? A Kia in a BOTB Car Competition?! We expect plenty of people will be thinking just that, but put your preconceptions to one side – this is nothing like the Kia you know.
To start with the Stinger is a large five door hatchback, but has a distinctly coupe-like profile much like the BMW 440i GranCoupe and Audi S5 Sportback. So rear headroom may not be amazing, but this is one seriously good looking car full stop, no matter who makes it. The front end is aggressive and stylish, while there are nice big alloys and a quad exit exhaust at the back.
That exhaust hints at what really sets this apart from the usual Kia shopping car fodder too – under that long bonnet sits a 3.3 litre twin turbo V6 producing 365bhp (that’s more than the Audi and BMW, in case you wondered) which goes to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Serious spec and the performance matches it too – 0-62mph taking just 4.7 seconds on the way to a 168mph top speed. So the Stinger GT S is a fast, nimble, RWD V6 turbo fsmily car that costs less than the rivals yet beats them on all spec and numbers – heck it even comes with Kia’s seven year warranty.
Maybe you shouldn’t write it off just yet…
